Introduction
It began in 1975, when a team of electronics experts was approached by the makers of the then revolutionary Lifecycle® product line. Hired to create the primary components for their original computerized exercise bicycle, this group discovered a market need for sophisticated exercise equipment able to withstand the constant pounding of commercial use.

Thus was born Star Trac,

Information Center
Prompts you when programming your workout.
Also displays important feedback during your workout, including total time, distance, calories burned, number of laps, and current speed (mph) and pace (laps). When the on the built-in Polartm heart rate system is in use,
heart rate is also displayed periodically. Scan/Lock button lets you view only the
information on you want to see. 

Graphic Display
Provides visual cues letting you know where you are in your workout.
Choose either a running track profile or graphic depiction of the hills and valleys in your program. 

Scan/Lock Button
Toggles the numeric display between two sets of values each: 1) time, distance, speed; and 2) calories, laps, pace. The set in effect is highlighted by LED indicator lamps. 

Track/Profile Button
Lets you switch between the two graphical display views, namely the running track profile or graphic depiction of the hills and valleys. 

Info Recall
Allows easy access to accumulated workout data. 

Start/Enter
Used to enter data and start the exercise routine. 

Cool Down
Lets you end your workout anytime with a 2-minute cool-down period. 

Speed +/-
Adjust your speed any time during your workout by pressing the + or - key. Speed is adjustable in 0.1 mph increments up to 10 mph. 

Program Select
Allows you to choose between 15 preset and custom workout programs to add variety and challenge. 

Safety Key
The treadmill is operational only with the safety key in place. With its cord clipped to your workout clothing, the key will dislodge to power down the treadmill if you move too far away from the console. 

Stop/Pause
Press Stop button once to pause workout for up to 15 minutes; press Stop twice to end workout. 

Incline
You may adjust treadmill elevation between 0% (flat) and 12% incline at any time during your workout.

The new TR901 treadmill is built around a 12-gauge
welded steel uniframe for excellent stability. Its
Impact Absorption System is derived from our
commercial product line and was rated Number One
against our major competitors in an independent
study. The deck is reversible to double its life
span. Both the deck and belt are rated for 6,000
miles. Advanced Pulse Width Modulation (PWM)
technology enables our powerful 2 HP continuous
duty motor to draw less current. It also puts less
stress on electrical components and allows a
smooth, accurate full speed range, especially
at lower speeds. 

The TR901 has been configured for quick, easy access to a huge variety of
programming options. With its built-in Polartm heart rate control and monitoring
systems, the TR901 measures the user's heart rate with a Polartm chest strap.
During the Cardio Plus and Weight Loss programs, the treadmill acts as a training
partner by continuously monitoring the users heart rate and adjusting elevation (or
speed it elevation is set at 0%) to keep the users heart rate at a desired level.

Workout data for up to five users can be accumulated and stored
automatically, and five user-customizable programs can be stored. A number
of new performance programs include 5K and 10K race programs that range from
beginner to serious runner levels, eight progressive hill programs; and a varied profile program that provides more than 250 different workouts. Finally, the TR901's 2-minute cool down period is a commercial treadmill feature that enables the user to properly complete a workout by bringing the belt to a gradual stop.
